Outside

Go outside creation’s calling
Say hello to the flowers of spring
Catch the fall leaves as they’re falling
Listen to the song birds sing
Go outside and meet your maker
In his vaulted hall so high
Watch the lights dance round the heavens
Waltzing through the endless sky
Just go outside there’s a world awaiting
Go outside just like a child
With fresh wide open eyes
Then every small thing will be such a wonder
That no wonder will surprise
Just go outside there’s a world awaiting
What are you waiting for
Just throw open your door
And go outside
There’s a world awaiting

Falling
©2009 Seth Irby
Baby doll (Yes) You know I love you
Like the rain loves to fall in the spring
That’s not all you know I love you. (How much)
Like sunshine loves to fall on your skin the summertime
Honey you’re fine so fine
And I’m falling deeply in love with you
I’m falling deeply in love with you
Honeybunch (uh-huh) you know I love you
Like the leaves love to fall on the ground in the fall
That’s no hunch, I know I love you (you do? mmhmm)
Like snowflakes love to fall on your eyelashes in the wintertime
Honey you’re mine all mine
And I’m falling deeply in love with you
I’m falling deeply in love with you

Pretty Ugly
By Seth Irby and Josh Irby
I was driving in my Yugo
Pulled up next to this girl at a stop light
She was crusing in a mustang
She and her car were really tight
I said, “hey, nice car that you got there” (…it was red)
She looked over my way,
Gave me the finger,
And she said, she said…
Bleep bleep, blank blank, baby
Bleep bleep, blank blank baby
And I said…You look pretty ugly,
You look pretty ugly
Your mouth makes your face look ugly
You look pretty ugly.
I went shopping at the Kroger
To buy me a magazine (go Krogering)
I pulled up to the cashier
She had her hair done pretty keen
She looked like she was on top of the fashion scene
But before I had a chance to tell her
She looked my way
And she said, she said…
Now I’ve told this story
Told it plainly I hope you heard
Before you open up your mouth
Make sure you don’t spit out no hurtful words
Don’t say…
Bleep bleep, blank blank, baby
Don’t say, Bleep bleep, blank blank, baby
Don’t say, Bleep bleep, blank blank, baby
Or I’ll say…You look pretty ugly,
You look pretty ugly
Your mouth makes your face look ugly
You look pretty ugly.

Your Love
©2003 Seth Irby
Your love is like water yeah
Free and clear
You bid the pour and thirsty
Come and drink their fill
Your love, your love
Your love, your love
Your love, your love
Your love, your love
Is all I will ever need
Your love’s like an Oak tree yeah
Old and strong
And though the seasons change
It just grows on and on
Your love’s like a breath at dawn
Crisp and new
Though night’s deep darkness falls
I will wait for you

No For An Answer
© Seth Irby 2004
It’s OK that I’m fighting
That I’m scrapping tooth and nail
That I’m crying, crying out
It’s OK that I’m begging
That I’m falling on my knees
That I’m letting tears fall down
‘Cause I won’t take no for an answer
No for an answer, No for an answer
Can you keep my heart
From turning black and growing cold?
And I won’t take no for an answer
Don’t tell me that it’s
All down hill from here
Don’t tell me I
Just lay down and die
Don’t tell me that college was
The best time of my life
Tell me there is more
And that it’s worth fighting for
When we were young we had our dreams
But now do they mean anything
Can I keep the light behind my eyes?
Can I go on living until the day I die?
